The Keys Immigrant Coalition (KIC) is a volunteer run non-profit organization committed to protecting and defending the rights of immigrants in Monroe County, Florida through education, advocacy and outreach.
Projects
What We’ve Achieved
Partnered with Catholic Legal Services to offer Immigration legal clinics in Key West.
Offered Know Your Rights trainings and presentations.
Supported and helped pass the Key West Welcoming City resolution.
Created a weekly visitation program at our Monroe County ICE detention center. We offer English as a Second Language classes to immigrants detained there as a means to end isolation.
Created a monthly Know Your Rights visitation program with local attorneys to assist those detained.
Current Projects
Collecting donations to support our Keys Immigrants that do not have access to governmental assistance at this time.
Disseminating information on Housing Rights, Health Care, and Immigrant rights and other issues related to the Coronavirus.
Advocating for the release of all non-violent offenders incarcerated or detained.
Planning English as a Second language classes to offer at local churches and community centers.
